Boston Pizza + Pose Posh Post's Giveaway

I have not been to Boston Pizza for a while.
Jackie and I went there for dinner a few days ago (I think it was a few days?) and we saw that they had a special menu for the holidays =D
However, since I already had something to eat before we went there, I didn't order an entree.

Here's Jackie's entree, though:

Chicken and Mushroom Fettucini
I thought that this dish had an uneven proportion of pasta and sauce.
It seemed to have too little sauce so I found the pasta a bit dry.

I tried the soup from the special holidays menu.

Roasted Butternut Squash and Pumkin Soup
I liked how this came with nuts on the top so there's a bit of a crunch in the soup.
Compared to White Spot's Pumpkin Soup, though, I think this one is sweeter than I'd like... but then again, they are different soups - one has squash and the other doesn't. But they're similar.

I was also really thirsty and craving for something slushy.
So I tried a Peach Smoothie.

This smoothie came like this initially:
The crystals on the rim of the cup is actually salt.
When I drank it, I thought the drink tasted a little strange - a little salty, in fact.
At first, I thought the salt from the rim had fallen in and made the drink salty... but I realized that I was drinking from the bottom of the cup so that shouldn't be the case.
I asked the server and he said that they did put salt in the drink because they usually put salts in alcoholic drinks, but since mine was virgin, the addition of salt in there made the taste strange.

So he gave me a new one - without salt.

Anyway... that was my little Boston Pizza dinner adventure.

Mini weekend recap

Let me shrink 3 days into one short blog entry.
My Friday started off with work - a boring, long 9 hour shift. I went to join the potluck party at Herman's house afterwards. I was so tired after work that it didn't take too many drinks to screw me over.

Once again, it was one of those nights where only a couple of pictures are actually postable out of I-don't-know-how-many we took.

Group pic!

JNB ;)

Girlies

Lol I love this silly pic of us

Skipping the time to yesterday night - Sunday night - now...
I went to a coffee place called La Cuisson. I've never been there but it was in a mall that I always go to... How come I've never noticed this place? Lol.

They had very pretty drinks. I can't make comments on the quality of their drinks since I only tried my own drink.

Iced Fruit Tea

Iced Mocha
(I think)

Hot Chocolate

Specialty Mocha

No idea what this was called lol

I woke up today to a gloomy, rainy sky =(
It's like a bad sign that summer is coming to an end.

Random eat out day

One of those days where I had all three meals of my day outside... which adds up to a lot of money spent.
Sometimes, I don't even know how this kinda thing can happen because I keep telling myself that I need to save up and eat home-cooked meals more.

Any who... I had my breakfast (actually, brunch) at Boston Pizza. Lol. Such an unhealthy choice to have such greasy food entering my tummy first thing I wake up...

Goat Cheese and Spinach Dip
We requested to have tortilla chips instead of bread to go along with the dip.

French Onion Soup
They changed the onion soup. It used to be SUPER cheesy...
Now it has very little cheese and has some tomato sauce on the cheese wtf =_=

And randomly...
A camwhore photo of myself. LOL

Then we went to try the "famous" beef noodle soup at Aberdeen, called Chef Hung Taiwanese Beef Noodles.

We both ordered the same thing - the famous award-winning beef noodle soup, but with a not spicy soup base.

The noodles were alright...
The only part of the dish I really liked was the beef brisket. I will not pay $10 for a bowl of noodle that quality =_=. No offense but I don't see how that could be award winning food. For $10, I'd rather go downtown and have some heavenly ramen instead =P

Anyway... we walked around the mall and saw this mini Egypt exhibit thing.

The display was made out of M&M's!!

Hahaha. I thought this was funny. I wonder if people actually tried to reach in there to grab the M&M's to eat.

Another pic of the not-so-edible pharaoh statue.

Not too long after dinner, we went to Kamei Royale to have some drinks.

Calpico Mojito
This was pretty good =]
I would order one and finish it myself but I'm not too fond of minty drinks (or food for that matter).

Deep Fried Ice Cream

Strawberry Margarita
Nothing like a margarita, but it was so good!
It tasted like an alcoholic strawberry smoothie.

And of course, the one thing we order every single time we are there...
Chicken wings.

*Abrupt end to entry because I am too lazy to end it nicely - not that I do that usually anyway lol.

Beach + Gastown

It is finally starting to feel summery here!
Started off the day by going to Jericho Beach with Jackie.

I love this picture of us. We both look good, hahaha.

We walked around, and then this super friendly guy came over to offer to help us take pictures.
And then all of a sudden... he said "let me get a good shot of you guys with the lady lying down"... I was like wtf. I don't want no stranger laying on the beach as my background =_=...
Thank goodness... he didn't mean a real person laying on the beach...

Can you guys see the "lady lying down" in this scene? XD

LOL HERE SHE IS.
Hahahaha. We never knew how much those mountains looked like a lady lying on her back until the friendly man told us. Interesting.

Then we walked down to the floating dock.
So many people sailing (it's called sailing, right?), and peddling on those surf board things. I don't know what they're called but I want to try.

Tied up my hair while we were on the dock because the wind was blowing my hair into my mouth...

We were walking back and we saw bunnies. Lots of bunnies.
I liked this one in particular so I had to take a picture of it, lol.
It was so cute and fluffy X3

And I was trying so hard to get the bunny to come towards me... but I failed.
The following are pictures of me failing to make friends with the bunny... captured by Jackie. T_T

"Maybe I can lure it with some grass!"

Bunny ignoring me...

Bunny running away when I tried to walk closer =(

So...
After a fun time at the beach, we met up with our dearies to grab some drinks at Gastown after dinner =]

We went to a place called The Diamond because it has pretty good reviews on Yelp.
Sorry, the picture quality below are disgusting because the bar was so dark... and I didn't have a proper camera, so I had to make do with the crappy iphone flash.

I forgot what this was called... but it was pretty good.
I liked this drink the best out of all the cocktails we had.

The Gastown
This tasted super similar to the previous drink, except with a hint of grapefruit.

Taxi-Man
This drink also tasted super similar to the above drinks... but of course, with a hint of orange instead of grapefruit this time.

Crab & Corn Soup
I did not enjoy this soup... It smelled really good, but tasted like hot sauce and milk, with some crab meat.

Group piccie.

Outside. Goose and I trying to look taller than usual... =_= hahaha.

We also went to Manzo afterwards to eat some more O_O. Wtf is wrong with us.
Anyway... I was super tired by the end of the night. I must be getting too old... Sigh.

Betty's fairwell at Chop

It was Betty's fairwell party at Chop restaurant yesterday.
To be totally honest, I have already lost all my confidence in the food quality of Chop, so I didn't order anything to eat. The last two times I've been here to dine, I found their food to be over-priced and mediocre at best.

One of the dishes that are okay is the Crab & Lobster dip, which I have tried last time but did not find it to be exceptional.

I think this was called Tuna salad?
I didn't try it but I wanted to take a picture of it because it was so colorful, haha.

I thought that I'd just order drinks while other ate.
My third time here ordering drinks. Good thing I didn't have high expectations.

Sparkling Bellini
Sounds special, but taste nothing close to special.
More like sparkling cranberry juice. I couldn't taste one hint of peach in there.

Sparkling Sangria
I don't know what to say about this...
Carbonated watered-down red wine? Yep, that basically sums it up.

Pink Lemonade
I remember this being tasty the last time I ordered it, but maybe because the other drinks weren't that sweet, I found this pink lemonade to be overly sweet.
It was like drinking carbonated syrup.

I wouldn't be this harsh on the food/drinks if the prices weren't so crazy. That stupid bellini was $10. I won't even pay five bucks for it...

SO... since it was Betty's party, how come no pictures of the star of the night? She hasn't uploaded the pictures yet =P

Bird sanctuary + Ben's bday dinner

Such an eventful day today... or at least it felt like so to me...
Started off the day by going to Delta. Hagen brought Jackie and I to the bird sanctuary.
I was hoping to see some special pretty birds, but I guess we weren't lucky enough. There were tons of ducks and geese everywhere though, haha.

Hagen being nice and hand-feeding the ducks.

Jackie being mean and throwing the food at the ducks D=

After that, we went to Ben's birthday dinner. And then off to Moxie's for some drinks.

All these drinks were so good... they could make me an alcoholic X9

I. am. so. tired.
