Heels, heels. They hurt me so.

*ad
Do you not agree?... Heels are so beautiful. And the higher the heel, the prettier I think they are.
However, ladies, beauty always comes with a price.

If you have small feet like me, not only do you have to worry about finding shoes that fit (or buying enough insoles to make the shoe fit lol), you also have to worry about finding shoes that are comfortable.
Whenever I wear heels, I end up with aching feet at the end of the day. On some extreme occasions, my knees and thighs hurt too. It's like a work-out, except this work-out is bad for you.

Why is wearing heels bad for you? Here are only some of the reasons why:

Pressure on the ball of your foot.
The height of the heels will cause your body weight to shift to the ball of your foot. The higher the heel, the higher the pressure you put at the front of your foot. This can cause a condition called stone bruise or metatarsalgia to develop - which means that the ball of your foot will be in pain D=

Abnormal posture.
Since your weight is pushed towards the front of your feet, your body's balance is altered. Your hips, shoulders, and back all have to shift to keep you from falling over. Being in a bad posture for a long time can cause back and spine problems.

Squishing your toes.
If you like to wear pointed heels, this problem is especially worse. Your weight is shifted towards the front of your foot, where your toes are. This can cause your toes to be further squeezed in inside the narrow front of the shoe. Over-time, squishing your toes too much can produce hammer toes. This is why you should never squeeze your feet into shoes that are too small for you!

There are many more reasons, but basically, long-time wear of heels (or uncomfortable shoes) can really cause damage.

Housershoes.com offers lots of well-known brand name shoes, with many of the shoes on the site looking like they are comfort-first. With summer around the corner, there is a large selection of ladies sandals on the site that look beach-ready haha.
However, they do not have my shoe size because of my stupid tiny feet =(
This is why it is so difficult for me to find shoes that are nice AND comfy because of my small shoe size.

Where do you guys find your comfortable, but nice-looking shoes?

Shoes shoes

*ad

Sorry for not updating. I did not have access to a photo-editing program... I took tons of pictures but I haven't edited them yet. I'll post them up as soon as I get a chance to =]

On a separate note...

Check out this site for your shoe-shopping cravings, haha. They don't have super luxurious high end brands like Christian Louboutin, but they do have tons of other high end shoes (like Michael Kors, Marc Jacobs, Stuart Weitzman, Juicy Couture, Tory Burch...).

While browsing through the site, I saw this pair from Kate Spade that I really liked.

It really caught my eye... but because I have tiny feet, I don't order shoes online; I have to try on the shoes to make sure they fit first since more often than not the shoes are too big for me =(

Ready for the holidays

Exams are over (or at least for me, they are haha)... which means I can finally start enjoying my holidays!
Well, not really... because of work =(

But nonetheless, my holiday spirit will not be affected!

My friend really liked my snowflake nails I did last time (see tutorial here), so I did hers too... except with a twist. I added snowmen on her thumbs =D

And then, of course, I did my own nails too.
Mine are not holiday-themed, though. I have a Christmas themed nail design thought up in my head but I want to save that design for when it gets closer to Christmas.

Also, to go with my holiday spirit, I bought a pair of gold glittery pumps!
I actually did not intend on buying any new shoes for the holidays but I guess it was fate that I saw a pair of super pretty pumps that fit me - which surprised me since I am a size 4 - 4.5 feet size.

And you can't have holidays without including something fuzzy, right?
So here... I present you... a picture of me in a fuzzy sweater with my fuzzy cat hahaha

I got this sweater a few months back when I was in Hong Kong.
The detail on the back is so cute =]

Sorry I keep saying I will post up a nail tutorial soon but not doing so...
I will get my lazy ass around to doing it soon. I promise! Haha

Are you guys getting into the holiday mood too? ^u^

Sleeping in + food = Happy date

I failed to wake up for class today and slept in and finally got some rest after a whole week of not sleeping well.
I woke up, got dressed, and went out on a happy date X3.

Camwhoring while waiting for Jackie.
I like yellow. Lol.

Jackie said that he saw this ramen place from a magazine, so we went to check it out.
It's called Benkei and it's located on Broadway.

Really cute deco light-up painting thing:

Here come our ramen!

Miso Ramen
Sadly, looks can be deceiving.
The broth looks so thick and yummy but it really lacked the miso taste.

Curry Ramen
The broth was a bit too thick in this one. It was more like a curry paste than a curry soup.
And the chicken in the ramen was weird...

Both the ramens were average, and the amount of ingredients in the ramen was so limited.
I guess this place is worth a try if you feel like having a small portion of ramen.

Compared to Kintaro or Motomachi Shokudo, this place is far from close (speaking of ramen quality).
However, it has a comfortable place to sit at and it looks like a restaurant... so you're not sitting on a hard, wooden bench like at Kintaro or Motomachi. And you won't feel like you are rushed to eat and leave.

Another positive thing about Benkei is that they give you a stamp card...? Lol.

After our ramen lunch, we decided to stop by at my favorite super market.
LOL I know... I have a favorite super market. Don't judge =_=.

Hello, Whole Foods! I am back. Again.
Looking at their food makes me wanna eat again.

I immediately went to my favorite section of the super market...
The pastry and desserts =9

I love the cupcakes here!
Look at how beautiful they are *u*

Couldn't resist and bought cupcakes for ourselves.
(I end up buying something every time I come here >_<)

Me, standing retardedly and holding my yummy cupcake.

I have yet to try the gelato here.
Don't worry, gelato. I will come back for you. Very soon.

And then we walked to Yaletown to eat at the Keg for dinner.
By the time we got there, we were exhausted and hungry. Perfect timing.

Crab, Parmesan and Spinach Dip
Lol... I get this every time I come to the Keg. So boring of me... but it's so good.

Seafood & Sirloin
Don't freak out. I know, the portion looks horrendously small, but that's because we split this main course between two people ;)
The sirloin was good, but I found the seafood (the lobster, scallop and shrimp) to be a bit too salty.

And what better way to end the day than to come home with goodies? XD

I've been searching for sandals for summer, and I found these today at Brown's!
Pretty Michael Kors sandals.
They didn't have my size, so I tried on a size up. Surprisingly, they fit alright (a little loose)... so out comes the wallet D=

I heard that they've opened up a Michael Kors at Pacific Center, so I dragged Jackie there with me.

I saw the SUPER pretty bag!
It was my favorite color combination - ivory + tan/brown + gold.
Omg... I was drooling over the bag. (Ok, no I wasn't.) So I took this home too...
(Available online here)

Such a coincidence that both things I bought today are from Michael Kors, but from different stores.
However, thanks to my super random shopping spree, I am not allowed to buy anything for the next month - because my stupid job is giving me such shitty hours =_=.
At least I'll be working tomorrow to help cancel out some of the debt I've added onto my credit cards today.

Anime figure hunting

Today was dedicated to helping my brother hunt for some Touhou figures...

Right before I got to the bus stop, my shoe broke. The heel part of my flats just broke off. LOL.
These shoes have been worn for years, though, so I wasn't surprised...

R.I.P, my gold flats
After walking for hours, we went to my grandparents' house.
For some fattening "burn night", we went to eat at a place just downstairs from our apartment.
My auntie ordered this fried shrimp cake for us to try.

It was so good... and greasy... but so good XD
My mission tomorrow... is to buy a new pair of shoes.
