Cruise, ramen & dessert

I went on a mini 3-hour dinner cruise last week and I didn't get the time to blog about it, so here I am, blogging about the night a week later lol.

Anyway... It was sort of misleading how they named it "dinner cruise", yet dinner was not included. You had to pay extra to get food. And then you will be on another boat with food available... So why name it "dinner cruise"? =_=
Oh well. Let's forget about that.

Once on the boat, here is a table for us =D
(I blurred the bottom on purpose lol)

We set sail as the sun was setting

Pretty view!
It would have been prettier if there were fewer clouds though.

A group picture on the deck.
It was so cold! You can probably tell since we were all huddled up lol

One of the pics we took when we were inside - where it was nice and warm and not crazy windy lol

The cruise was nothing too special, but it was still fun! And the people onboard were really friendly too.
At the end, people were dancing in a line around the boat lol. Maybe they had a little too much to drink.

Since the cruise did not provide us with food, we went to fill our tummies at Kintaro. Nothing beats a cold night better than a bowl of hot ramen =9

Cheese Ramen
Look at the huge pile of shredded cheese + the extra slice on top. Yummmm!

Miso Ramen
A classic yummy. Jackie ordered this, but with rich, extra fat pork and an extra stick of butter. I will not even post a picture of that because it will make your screen greasy D=

After ramen, we finished a great night with...
DESSERT!!!

So many cute little cakes to choose from:

To make life harder for those who have choice-phobia:

And of course, macarons *u*

I was still super full from my bowl of cheese ramen, so we got a pack of macarons to go so I can eat it at another time.
It was a really fun night... Except that it was a little too cold to be on a cruise at this time. Maybe I'll do it again when summer comes around XP

Ramen & waffles again

I had another night of satisfying ramen and then waffles for dessert <3, but this time, ramen was at Kintaro instead of Motomachi Shokudo.

Hanpayaro BBQ Pork
I found this too be too salty, but the flavor was pretty good.
This was only $1.00!

It was a super busy night at Kintaro so we just munched on that bowl of Hanpayaro BBQ Pork for a while. We lined up and waited a long time to get inside too.
After the long wait...

Fatty pork in rich broth with extra butter
This was Jackie's order. It sounded like he was trying to kill himself with cholesterol overload =_=
Looking at the fattyness kinda grosses me a little bit.

I took a little bit of his ramen and put it in a tiny bowl so I could try some lol

Gyoza
Decent gyoza. However, I don't like vinegar with my gyoza so I didn't like how they had the vinegar all over the plate.

Usually, finishing a bowl of ramen from Kintaro can cause your tummy to explode (lol jk), but this time, Jackie actually finished the whole thing and said he wasn't bloating full O_o...
Maybe because they were soooo busy so they skimmed out on the ramen noodles.

Since we had room, we went for waffles at WE Coffee =D

This was the Ice-Cream Maniac Waffles (I think... Can't remember.)

A delicious, fun night lol.
Now... on a completely irrelevant note:

These camera apps on phones nowadays are so powerful...
I was camwhoring with this app called Camera 360 and it is just so amazing how an app can make you look 100x better than you actually do. LOL so sad.

Here's me, with zero make-up.

This app erases the dark circles and eye bags under my eyes like magic O_O.
And it smooths out and brightens your skin too.

I feel like pictures can't be trusted anymore... but whatever... as long as we look good, right? ;)

Sleeping in + food = Happy date

I failed to wake up for class today and slept in and finally got some rest after a whole week of not sleeping well.
I woke up, got dressed, and went out on a happy date X3.

Camwhoring while waiting for Jackie.
I like yellow. Lol.

Jackie said that he saw this ramen place from a magazine, so we went to check it out.
It's called Benkei and it's located on Broadway.

Really cute deco light-up painting thing:

Here come our ramen!

Miso Ramen
Sadly, looks can be deceiving.
The broth looks so thick and yummy but it really lacked the miso taste.

Curry Ramen
The broth was a bit too thick in this one. It was more like a curry paste than a curry soup.
And the chicken in the ramen was weird...

Both the ramens were average, and the amount of ingredients in the ramen was so limited.
I guess this place is worth a try if you feel like having a small portion of ramen.

Compared to Kintaro or Motomachi Shokudo, this place is far from close (speaking of ramen quality).
However, it has a comfortable place to sit at and it looks like a restaurant... so you're not sitting on a hard, wooden bench like at Kintaro or Motomachi. And you won't feel like you are rushed to eat and leave.

Another positive thing about Benkei is that they give you a stamp card...? Lol.

After our ramen lunch, we decided to stop by at my favorite super market.
LOL I know... I have a favorite super market. Don't judge =_=.

Hello, Whole Foods! I am back. Again.
Looking at their food makes me wanna eat again.

I immediately went to my favorite section of the super market...
The pastry and desserts =9

I love the cupcakes here!
Look at how beautiful they are *u*

Couldn't resist and bought cupcakes for ourselves.
(I end up buying something every time I come here >_<)

Me, standing retardedly and holding my yummy cupcake.

I have yet to try the gelato here.
Don't worry, gelato. I will come back for you. Very soon.

And then we walked to Yaletown to eat at the Keg for dinner.
By the time we got there, we were exhausted and hungry. Perfect timing.

Crab, Parmesan and Spinach Dip
Lol... I get this every time I come to the Keg. So boring of me... but it's so good.

Seafood & Sirloin
Don't freak out. I know, the portion looks horrendously small, but that's because we split this main course between two people ;)
The sirloin was good, but I found the seafood (the lobster, scallop and shrimp) to be a bit too salty.

And what better way to end the day than to come home with goodies? XD

I've been searching for sandals for summer, and I found these today at Brown's!
Pretty Michael Kors sandals.
They didn't have my size, so I tried on a size up. Surprisingly, they fit alright (a little loose)... so out comes the wallet D=

I heard that they've opened up a Michael Kors at Pacific Center, so I dragged Jackie there with me.

I saw the SUPER pretty bag!
It was my favorite color combination - ivory + tan/brown + gold.
Omg... I was drooling over the bag. (Ok, no I wasn't.) So I took this home too...
(Available online here)

Such a coincidence that both things I bought today are from Michael Kors, but from different stores.
However, thanks to my super random shopping spree, I am not allowed to buy anything for the next month - because my stupid job is giving me such shitty hours =_=.
At least I'll be working tomorrow to help cancel out some of the debt I've added onto my credit cards today.

Ramen & Waffles!

Class was hella boring... as usual... So I started playing with Ching's hair.
I wanted to braid her hair. Initially, she refused to let me because she said she'd look like a village girl LOL, but I win.

Look at the awesome mini fishtail braid.
She looks so cute X3 (Thanks to me. You're welcome, haha!)

After class, we went to downtown to eat ramen with her beloved.

Both Ching and I's favorite ramen place (so far) =D
Motomachi Shokudo on Denman

Gyozas
Juicy, juicy. So good.

Shio Ramen
This is the ramen I usually order when I eat here, but not today...
This was property to be devoured by Tony.

Dark Miso Ramen (aka Charcoal Bamboo Ramen)
Ching and I shared this one.
I found the soup to be a little too thick this time and a bit too salty... not sure if that has anything to do with the fact that we ordered extra ramen noodles so the noodles soaked up the water?
And of course, we had to order extra eggs. They have really yummy eggs lol.

Before poor Tony could digest his ramen, we went for waffles at WE Coffee on Robson.
I was so excited because I've been wanting to try their waffles for the longest time!

Interesting. They had their logos up on the ceiling too.

London Fog Tea
Damn I took a good pic of it, didn't I?

Strawberry + Ice Cream Waffles
Take a look at this heavenly goodness and tell me you don't want to try some.
It's impossible to turn away, isn't it?

After a super filling dinner & dessert, we headed home.
I guess I haven't walked to this side of the Canada Line for a while because when I got off at the Richmond Brighouse stop, I saw this and I was surprised:

I had no idea that that area had turn into a waiting area for taxis.
Reminds of Hong Kong. I miss Hong Kong =(

I feel fat from eating that unhealthy goodness today... my food baby is growing happily, unfortunately.

Ramen

Originally, we decided to go for ramen today at Kintaro, but it was closed.
Not bad news for me since I actually wanted to go to Motomachi Shokudo for ramen more, haha. So that was where we ended up eating at.

Shoyu Ramen

Bamboo Charcoal Ramen

Extra BBQ Pork Ramen

Yummy yummy in my tummy =9
I love ramen.
