Ocean Park - Old Hong Kong

I wanted to wait until I got all the pictures from everyone before I blog about Ocean Park, but I'm too impatient haha.
SO... I went to Ocean Park with some friends and it was an awesome day to go there. First of all, the weather was great. It had rained the couple of days before we decided to go, so it wasn't too blazing hot on the day we went there. Also, because it was a Tuesday, there were very few people (talking in Hong Kong standards of "few", of course.)
A group pic at the entrance =]

Huge fountain right after you enter the park.

We walked around and in the goldfish exhibit area, there was a board where you can make wishes.
Guess what my wish was... (I'm so shallow lol)

Ocean park has built a new area called old Hong Kong and it lets you walk through the culture of Hong Kong back in the 1950's - 1970's (I think).

I thought the Old Hong Kong street was amazing. It felt like we went back in time and I absolutely loved it. I don't know why, but I love the 50's.

Look at this adorable bus XD

Veggies, anyone?

We took tons more pictures, but I don't have them on my camera since my battery died...

After the walk through old Hong Kong, we took the cable car up the mountain, where the roller coasters and the other things were.
During the ride, it was super windy... My hair was going crazy inside the cable car.

My friends were going to take a picture of me with my hair flying up like a medusa, but once they were about to take the photo, troll wind blew my hair all over my face and my face was completely covered.

I thought this picture was super hilarious:

Anyway, sorry for only blogging about my days. If my posts are boring you, no worries, because I'm editing pics for a nail tutorial (finally) ;)

Beautiful Hong Kong

Another view at beautiful Hong Kong's night, but this time, from the top of a mountain instead of inside a lounge ;D

This picture, obviously, does not do the view any justice because we didn't have any fancy cameras. In fact, my camera is so crappy that I had to take pictures with my iphone instead =_=

A picture of meeeee and the view...
It looks like I'm glowing lol

Group pic =]

It started to rain not too long after we took pics, so we had to leave.
The next time (if there is a next time) I go back there, I will make sure to have a better camera with me.

After the feast for our eyes, it's a feast for our tummies.
Dessert at Honeymoon Desserts!

"Yerng gi gum lo" with vanilla ice cream.

Same as above, but with green tea ice cream.

"Lerng fun" and durian + green tea ice cream

I had no idea what this was lol
Coconut milk and some seeds?

Because I was lazy and didn't update frequently, now I have a ton of updates to do...

Like the good times...

A little get-together with close friends tonight.
Our first stop was "satay king" to shut our grumbling tummies up.

I don't remember the names of the dishes, but I will try to tell you what they were lol.

This was a Vietnamese style dish. Pork inside and shredded pork on top.

Mango fried rice

Lobster soup...
it looked so much better on the menu lol

Deep-fried Hokkaido milk/cream and cheese balls

Clams...

Shrimp spring rolls, which I found to lack flavor.

"Portuguese style" baked veggies

This one was interesting...
Baked gyozas in tomato and cheese sauce.

At the end, they gave us a free bottle of XO sauce =D

It was a neat little place and I liked how you can order lots of dishes to share and try so many different things.

After dinner, we went to Wooloomooloo for some drinks.
I don't know if it's just me, but I find the name so cute and funny lol. It's like something that a baby says.

And our drinks =D

The best part of the lounge was that it had a fantastic view!

Blurry group pic taken by the server...

The lounge was so dark...
I had left my phone on the menu and when the server grabbed the menu, she dropped my phone on the floor... and my iphone case has a huge crack in it now =(

I'm upset about it, but I can't really blame her since it was so dark in there. The menu was black, and my phone was black. Sigh.

Tea Buffet @ TST

Headed to TST (Tsim Sha Tsui/尖沙咀) with a desperately hungry tummy for a tea buffet at 柏景餐廳 Café on the Park.

There were so many desserts to choose from... I only took photos of a few of them.

Haha... This one below that looks all messy was my creation.

Each person gets this gigantic bowl of almond tofu bird's nest dessert thing (I should have taken a picture of it). I was practically full after eating that bowl and hardly had room left to eat anything else.

After tea buffet, Jackie and I went to walk about the TST harbor.

It was sunset and the sun was blinding us lol.

Thankfully, it wasn't too hot that the time and we could sit down and enjoy the view without being baked to death.

Smile cafe + Meiji chocolates

Sorry for not being able to come up with a more creative title, but at least it is straight forward and tells you exactly what this post is about XD

There's this little dessert shop called Smile, which sells super pretty frozen yogurt and little dessert cups. As you can see...

They also had these Pocky-looking snacks. We bought a box (which contains one of each flavor) as a gift.

Isn't the packaging so cute?
Even the individual tubes inside have their smiley face logo on them.

And last but not least, I tried their frozen yogurt.
Pretty, no?

Unfortunately, to be very honest, their food looks better than it tastes =(
I'd advice you to buy actual Pocky rather than the ones from this dessert shop... Except the chocolate explosion flavor; That one has candy that pops in your mouth and it is quite interesting, otherwise, the other flavors were all blehhh.

Same goes with the frozen yogurt. Is it pretty? Of course. Does it taste good? It's alright... I've had better.
Maybe my expectations were a little high because they made the products too nice looking lol.

On the way home, there was a sale going on at a snack shop...
They were selling huge boxes of Meiji's Meltykiss chocolates for only $40 HKD! So Jackie and I bought a box each.

Look at how big the boxes of chocolates were @u@

However, once you open it up, there doesn't seem to be so many.

Damnit... I keep getting tricked because of the way things look. I should think twice five times before I decide to purchase anything =_=...

Too much food turns into stomach ache...

Another food-filled day!

Breakfast at a close-by restaurant:

A bowl of macaroni, toast, fish cutlet, omelette and a drink... only $38 HKD!

My brother ordered baked pork chop with rice:

Haha. And my auntie's... I forgot to take a picture before she started eating, so here it is in the middle of the eating process hahaha

Later on, they brought me to Kowloon City to eat "tofu flower" =9

Dinner was the best meal today.
We went to a Thai restaurant. Every dish we ordered was super yummy!

This was my favorite dish of the night. Only if it wasn't spicy (then it'd be perfect).

Mango fried rice

Deed-fried shrimp "cake"...

...with cheese inside!!!

Pad Thai

BBQ skewers + chicken wings

The food was so good that I think I over-ate...
I went home with a stomach ache and had to eat Tums lol, but it was worth it.
