Christmas eve + NYE recap

A little overdue. Just a little.
Here's my crappy recap of my awesome Christmas eve and new years eve this year =D
I'm going to make this short - partly because I am lazy and partly because I don't have that many pictures to post up.

Christmas Eve

My friends and I were planning to dine at a fancy restaurant but because it was Christmas eve, most western restaurants were closed at 8pm. I think that is just stupid. I understand that, yes, it is Christmas eve and you want to spend time with family, but don't they know it is also when families and friends go out and eat and spend? (Maybe I am too Asian?)

So we ended up going to Guu.

After dinner, we joined my other friends.

We did a gift exchange, and took a picture with us holding our gifts, but that is a bad picture...

After many attempts of a camwhore pic of us, we finally got one without some weird shadow on our faces.

It was a fun night spending my Christmas eve with such fun, awesome people =]
It felt as if new years was only the day after...

New Years Eve

This was the most calm, pleasant, peaceful NYE I have had in years!
We just wanted to do a very small gathering at my friend's house and just chill together instead of getting sh*t-faced together for the first time lol!

I actually enjoyed my new years eve a lot this year.
I counted down to 2012 sober and remembered every bit of the night. And my night did not come to an end with me hugging the toilet.
Spending my new years eve so peacefully was not a bad decision... especially after a crazy Christmas Eve.

I was just happy to have spent the first hours of 2012 with some of the people I loved =D

Mini weekend recap

Let me shrink 3 days into one short blog entry.
My Friday started off with work - a boring, long 9 hour shift. I went to join the potluck party at Herman's house afterwards. I was so tired after work that it didn't take too many drinks to screw me over.

Once again, it was one of those nights where only a couple of pictures are actually postable out of I-don't-know-how-many we took.

Skipping the time to yesterday night - Sunday night - now...
I went to a coffee place called La Cuisson. I've never been there but it was in a mall that I always go to... How come I've never noticed this place? Lol.

They had very pretty drinks. I can't make comments on the quality of their drinks since I only tried my own drink.

Two Days Packed with Crazyness

Friday:

Our little wine and cheese party. We started off just drinking and eating cheese and bread. So classy. As more people joined, more wine was added... and we ended up having eight bottles of wine to share amongst the twelve of us lol.

It was Hinson and Vincent's combined birthday party!
The night was so fun... so fun that I only have a blurred memory of what was happening by the end of the night =_=.

We were taking a picture of just girls, but Hinson wanted to join, of course haha.

This was before I started looking stupid... before the drinking began.

I went to bed when the birds were already out chirping and the sun was about to rise... Hence waking up at 5pm today. Sigh... good bye, proper sleep schedule.
But I guess it's all worth it, since I had a lot of fun during these past two days with really fun people =D

Betty's fairwell at Chop

It was Betty's fairwell party at Chop restaurant yesterday.
To be totally honest, I have already lost all my confidence in the food quality of Chop, so I didn't order anything to eat. The last two times I've been here to dine, I found their food to be over-priced and mediocre at best.

One of the dishes that are okay is the Crab & Lobster dip, which I have tried last time but did not find it to be exceptional.

I think this was called Tuna salad?

I didn't try it but I wanted to take a picture of it because it was so colorful, haha.

I thought that I'd just order drinks while other ate.
My third time here ordering drinks. Good thing I didn't have high expectations.

Sparkling Bellini

Sounds special, but taste nothing close to special.

More like sparkling cranberry juice. I couldn't taste one hint of peach in there.

Sparkling Sangria

I don't know what to say about this...

Carbonated watered-down red wine? Yep, that basically sums it up.

Pink Lemonade

I remember this being tasty the last time I ordered it, but maybe because the other drinks weren't that sweet, I found this pink lemonade to be overly sweet.

It was like drinking carbonated syrup.

I wouldn't be this harsh on the food/drinks if the prices weren't so crazy. That stupid bellini was $10. I won't even pay five bucks for it...

SO... since it was Betty's party, how come no pictures of the star of the night? She hasn't uploaded the pictures yet =P

Meya's bachelorette party

Congratulations to Meya! She is getting married in a week!
We celebrated with her last night... and everyone ended up very beat this morning.

It was so nice to meet all the girls at the party =D.

Unfortunately, I couldn't stay for high tea this morning because I was so sick...
I just hope my virus didn't spread to the other girls D=

Richie's birthday

Went to Richie's birthday party after work yesterday.
He was already half gone by the time I got to the party XP

Haha. He couldn't even cut the cake properly.

Post flight clubbing!

Our flight got delayed by three hours at the Shanghai airport =_=...
after the long wait and the long flight, we finally arrived back in Vancouver in the afternoon.

Came home and napped.
Nothing was better than my bed and my blankets at that moment, haha.
Then, even though I was so tired... I went clubbing...

On the way there, our car's back wheel "popped"... the very amazing guys changed the tire in the cold weather...

We arrived at the club kinda late because of that delay, but at least the line-up wasn't that long by then XD
