Last time seeing the Shanghai night

Our last day in Shanghai...

We went to an extremely cute restaurant called Danbo Fun for lunch.
The decor and everything about the restaurant was so cute!

Outside seating at Danbo restaurantInside seatingSalad wrapped in eggSome devil-egg thing that wasn't devil egg lolSome pancake thing... forgot the name X_XIt was a pretty chill day today. We just went to see the Jing An Temple. It was so gold... like a gold piece from those jewellery stores XD.
We also passed by another cute store called Happy Lemon where they sold all these nice beverages for super low prices, haha.

Waiting for my drink and being stupidAt night, we went Nan Jing Dong Lu's river. There was a ridiculous number of people. So many people that you cannot walk without brushing against each other's shoulders. The view was so amazing, though. On one side, it looked like a fairy tale city, and on the other, it was like time travel to the modern-future city. We tried to take some pics... it was so hard to not have other people in the scene, haha.

Bye bye Shanghai.
Can't wait for Hong Kong XD

Visiting old Shanghai

Instead of Shanghai Expo, we went to see old Shanghai today. All the buildings there were so nice. We also visited this garden built really long ago. It felt like I went back in time to visit ancient China XD.

I got to dress up in their robes XD
It was so thick though... I was sweating like crazy

I was enjoying everything except the people there. I really can't stand how people here are so pushy and aggressive. It's just rude to be pushing the person in front of you in a crowd. It's even worse in the subway stations... The rule about letting passengers get off first before you get on? That doesn't exist here. Every time the train door opens, it's like a war between the passengers trying to get off and the ones trying to get on.

Anyway, the day wasn't as harsh as yesterday's, and we came back to the hotel pretty early to rest before dinner.
We ended up eating at a Japanese restaurant that had all these unique sushi dishes I've never seen before.

Sushi!! XD
Fried veggie cake
Crab & cheese roll
Salmon sashimi sushi
Seafood ramen

Too bad we didn't get to try a lot of the things on the menu... there were too many XP, but the dishes that we did try were pretty good =D
Our whole meal was so cheap hahaha

First steps in Shanghai

YESTERDAY:
Our first morning in Shanghai...
We went to Starbucks for breakfast. They have drinks that we don't have in the Canada or the states.

My breakfast sandwich. Yum yum!

Then we rode the subway to go to the Shanghai Expo.

Coca cola... My favorite part of the Expo... even though we didn't go in LOL.

Cool pillar things XD
China's display
Ice cream! The line-up just to get in the Expo was huge. Once we got in, to get into the individual countries' little display houses, there were more line-ups. And depending on which country it was, the line-ups ranged from an hour to over three hours.
To be honest, I didn't enjoy the Expo. We lined up for the less popular "palodiums", but the wait was still around an hour to get in. Once we got in, it felt like I was in a section of science world... it took less than two minutes to go around the whole thing. Totally not worth the wait. The people there were extremely pushy and very aggressive in the lines. A ton of people would just push and shove and budge into the line. This also applied to line-ups for the washroom, which made the wait extra long.

After a long day at the Expo, we had a nice dinner. The food was good =D And it was so cheap too!

So... after our experience at the Expo today, none of us feel like going back there during the rest of our stay in Shanghai... even though we still have tickets for it.

Arriving in Shanghai!

YESTERDAY:
We have arrived in Shanghai!
The weather here isn't as hot as I imagined it to be... just very humid.
The first thing we see when we get out of the airport are free lighters for people to grab O_o. People smoke everywhere here...

Some funny-labelled can at the airport XD

We checked into our little apartment hotel thingy. It's small, but it looks so cute and cozy XD

The view from our room

Then we went to eat dinner at an All-You-Can-Eat teppanyaki place. It was only $150RMB per person... Not only was it cheap, they also had no limit on the orders of sashimi (not that I eat any lol), and fruit smoothies and milkshakes. The menu choices weren't crappy food either. Only drawback during the dinner was that we were all too tired to enjoy it properly. I wasn't even full, but I was so tired and I just didn't have the appetite to eat anymore.

After dinner, we came straight home, washed up, and dropped unconcsious on our beds XP
