Dine out 2013

I've only gone to two restaurants for Dine Out this year, and I think both were great restaurants.

First Dine Out was at Copper Club.
I dined there with my lovely girl friends... unfortunately, all the photos we took of us have horrible lighting so no photos of faces, but enjoy the food porn ;)

"Warm spinach salad Handpicked baby spinach, Canadian bacon, quail eggs, balsamic dressing"
I was quite surprised at how big the salad was.
It was good, but the quail eggs tasted just like chicken eggs... Are there supposed to be any differences?

"Crab & salmon Norwegian gravlax, crab salad, pea shoot nest, citrus aioli"
I didn't try this because it has salmon. My friends said it was good, though.

"Black cod Smoked Alaskan black cod, buttermilk whipped potato, seasonal vegetable, lychee salsa"
The cod was really tasty and I really liked it with the lychee salsa.
The mashed potato was really dry though =(

"Grilled banana Vanilla ice cream, wafer, brandy caramel"
Omgosh. Delish.

"Farmhouse, flavor of the day cheesecake “Unbaked” in house, blackberry coulis"
I know... the photo should have been taken from the other direction haha

"Macaroons Trio of coulis"
Lots of coconut

The second restaurant I went to was Herons.

"Vancouver Seafood Chowder with mussels. clams. fennel. grapefruit"
Tasted more sweet and cheesy than it did seafood-y

"Barnston Island Organic Greens with beddis blue cheese. dates. honey vinaigrette"
This didn't look very pretty but it was so good!

"Pan Seared Ling Cod with butternut squash purée. french beans"
Cod and butternut squash. Two things I love come together and became awesome.

"Short Rib with winter root vegetable. celery root purée. truffles scented reduction"
Haha... sorry but it tasted like meatloaf.

"Textures of Chocolate with dark chocolate brownie. caramelized white chocolate cremeau. milk chocolate mousse"
Indeed, textures of chocolate because of the different components in the dish. This was so good, but so filling too.

And lastly, a group photo.
Them boys looking so sharp ;)
