Photo Journal 5

This is going to be a mix of random different days that I wanted to blog about but didn't.

First off... I had a quality fun catching-up date =]

This was my first meal of that day.
So unhealthy, but so tasty.

Funny story behind this photo:
We were sitting in the car camwhoring, trying to get a nice photo, but we didn't realize that there was some guy waiting for our spot haha. So for a really long time... he just stared at us, and watched us camwhored. He looked super annoyed. I feel bad for making him wait so long for our spot, but we really didn't notice him LOL

Saw these cute Aero chocolate bars.
Bought all three flavors there lol

This is what the chocolate bar looks like.
It looks different, but it taste exactly the same as the normal Aero. I don't know why they decided to market the chocolate this way.

Random night when my friends and I decided to try a newly opened restaurant, but we didn't make a reservation and the restaurant was fully booked, so we ended up eating at a pub hahaha

Here's my friend teaching me how to make a face that makes your cheekbones stand out more.
I'm obviously not very good at it. My mouth looks retarded but my face looks pointier lol!

Then when you give up, just use your hands to help haha!

That was also the night when we had really sad bellinis =(
I have never had such an ugly AND bad tasting bellini. Warning to those of you who eat at Wing's. Do not order their bellini D=

And completely opposite of the sad bellini, I had an extremely pleasant surprise one day after work.
No matter how crappy your day was at work, how can you not smile when someone gives you something this sweet? ^3^

Many more photo journals to come because it's easier to pack several days into one post like this haha

Styling a very oversized sweater

Here's the story:
I have purchased a few sweaters from BCBG Max Azria before, and their size XXS had always been okay for me. I saw their Nevena sweater and thought it was really cute to wear as a sweater dress (given my short height), so I bought it without trying it on. In fact, I was so confident that there would be nothing wrong with the fitting that I ripped off and threw away the tags before trying the sweater on. And guess what... SURPRISE! The sweater fits way too big on me. Congratulations =_=".
I bought this back in either October or November but didn't wear it because it was too big on me. I tried to sell it back online but had no luck... Lacking the ability to sew, I took a gamble with the dryer haha.
I threw the sweater in the dryer for a short amount of time, hoping it will shrink... and it did, but just a tiny bit. I was scared that if I let the dryer shrink it anymore, the whole shape of the sweater will change too, so I worked with what I got.

I finally decided to wear the sweater out, and this was how it looked on me:

It was still too big for me, but at least it was a little better than before.
The length was still a little longer than I'd like even though I wanted to wear it as a sweater dress.

So, I tried it on with a belt...

With the belt, the sweater was lifted a bit so the length was not as long.

Or... I can just wear a scarf to add more "detail" to the outfit.
It somehow distracts the eye and takes the attention off the size of the sweater.

Or... just wear a very distracting animal hat-scarf-mitten thing so no one will even be thinking about how big the sweater is...

I decided to go with the last option haha

Also, camwhore time with my bear hat-scarf-mitten thing.

Whoever came up with that idea to integrate a hat, scarf and mittens all in one is a genius.

Anyway, in case you are interested in the sweater, it is on sale now:

On another note... I am welcoming the new year with a new look (despite already chopping off my long hair a few months ago).
I am now a blondie ;D
Will post pictures in the next post!

Ricey's bday!

Got made up and ready to go to one my dear friend's birthday dinner.
Before heading out, camwhoring and goodbye kisses for Mitten!

More camwhoring with cats when I got to Ricey's house.
Mui mui + me =]

@ the restaurant, while waiting for food =9

Burning off our calories with clubbing... although the drinks and shots probably totally cancelled out the calorie-burning haha.

I had a super fun time!
Though I have to admit that I am probably getting too old... I felt like the music was piercing through me when I was in the club. My ears rang for the entire day the next day D=

Anyway...
I had such an awesome time celebrating with this beautiful girl ;)
Happy birthday again, Ricey!

Long to short hair

SO...
I had made the decision to chop off my long hair and give short hair a try.

Here's a photo of my current short hair in a super awesome high angle lol:

For those of you who don't follow my blog and have never seen photos of me, here is a photo of what I looked like before... me with my long hair:

It was so long that the longest strands were almost to my butt.

Initially, I was just going to my hairdresser to get a trim because my split ends were out of control and the length was becoming a bit of a nuisance... but I thought... why not try something different. I've never had short hair before...

This was right after the first cut. He tied my hair and cut off the ponytail.

Work in progress...

...And DONE!
Look at this chunk of my hair I said good-bye to!

My hair was just laying on the table like this... it looked creepy. My hairdresser asked if I wanted to take it home LOL.

After my extreme hair change, I had to camwhore... cuz, you know, that's just what you do when you have a change of looks ;) Hahaha.

Doesn't my short hair make me look 500x cooler in my shades? Hahaha! *not really*

Playing with my hair...

So yea...
bye long hair, and welcome short hair!

I'm going to be honest and tell you that short hair turns out to be much higher maintenance than long hair. I thought it would be the other way around, but now I have to wake up extra early to wash my hair and blow-dry it so I don't look like a crazy woman =_=.
Aside from maintaining the hair itself, this short hair is also higher maintenance than long hair in that I have to put on make-up if I want to look decent. Without the help of make-up, I look like a boy D=

Nonetheless, I will still embrace my short hair. No more pulling out hairs when I put my bag on my shoulder anymore. No more wiping my hair across food on the table anymore (lol yes that sounds gross I'm sorry).

Girl's date!

One of the many favorite things on my list is to have a date with a few close friends and just chill and eat ;D

I went to Browns Social House with two awesome girls a couple days ago. I had driven by Browns before many times but never actually went in to taste their food. I'm glad that one of my friends suggested to go to the location in Burnaby so I got to finally try their stuff.

I love this picture.
The "EAT" on the wall there sums up this whole picture... and my life haha.

Look at this burger. It's almost as big as my face O_O.
I couldn't even fit it in my mouth so it was such a mess to eat, but it was so yummy!

While waiting for our server to get us the bill (which took a while), we camwhored XD

Guess whoooooo

All three of us <3
(I tried to do the wink thing my friend was doing, but obviously I failed LOL)

Us looking so touristy outside.

Finally, we went for bubble tea and dessert at the closest place we found; Pearl drops Tea House.

Their bubble teas were giant.
But other than the size, there was nothing special about them. They didn't taste exceptionally great.

My friend ordered a parfait and it came with some special ingredients...
pieces of paper. (Yes, plural.)
The pieces of paper were not tiny little pieces you can just eat by accident. They were huge pieces. It was as if someone was trying to play a prank on us and slipped paper into the parfait.

Well... I'm going to end my post here because I feel like eating ice cream after looking at that picture =]

First hairstyle with my CHI flat iron

As mentioned in my previous post, I have purchased a CHI flat iron.
I spent the last few days just practicing how to curl my hair with the flat iron. Today, I did my first hairstyle with that flat iron.

The flat iron works very well... so well that I think I am going to start doing some hair masks because I feel bad for my hair.

Anyway... I just wanted to show you guys how I styled my hair with the flat iron =]
I know... curling your hair with a flat iron is not anything new, but I felt so proud that my hair turned out better than I expected so I will now force you to look at the pictures:

Curls!

And this is what it looks like on the side:

It was really sunny today and the sunlight made my skin look so bright so you can barely see my scars and eye bags lol. I love you, sunlight.

Do you guys use your flat iron to curl your hair too?
Or do you usually use a curling iron for that?

Dear david's graduation!

Note: Started a new blog just to post my shopping "adventures" so this blog is not spammed with shopping entries. Visit blog here.
****************************************************************

It was my dearest David's graduation!!
Jackie and I were all ready to go to his convocation but things did not go as smoothly as planned.
It started to rain like dog shit outside and became extremely windy.

We left the house a little late and to make things better... there was a road block for a reason not known to us. The whole bridge was blocked off and none of the cars could go on. There was a huge traffic jam because of that.
As if the traffic jam wasn't bad enough, the bridge that was blocked off was actually the route we needed to take =(

Nothing better than to take pictures to pass the time in a traffic jam, am I not right? Haha.

We got him these super colorful pretty flowers <3

The weather was horrid outside, but at least it was good lighting for camwhoring.
These camwhoring pics came out so nice because of the blur from the car moving and the nice lighting! Haha!

Along with the flowers, we also got him a Mario mushroom lol
It is hiding among the flowers (we are so lame).

We took pics inside the house because the weather was still so ugly outside. And none of us wanted to risk having our hair messed up.

Wish we took more pictures =(
I hate rainy weather.

On the other hand though, I am so happy for David! I know he's worked really hard and put in a lot of hard work and effort studying. I can't wait til I am free from school.

Because he had to eat dinner with his family, I went shopping with Ching.
I spent a lot... but when I got home, we found out that Black Friday sales were happening the next day and that the sales would only last one day... so we went for a round two shopping spree lol.

One of the first things we bought...
Godiva chocolates. Yummy <3

I had a lot of fun shopping with Ching ^_^
I don't want to make this blog entry super long with my shopping spree blah blah, so you can see my shopping log blog. (Yes, I actually started a new blog for my shopping log purposes haha.)

Hope you guys had some good finds during Black friday sales too!
